Long Lake Lutheran Church has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity since 2000.  The group first worked on a home in Wisconsin, but has since been building homes through Habitat for Humanity in Itasca County, Minnesota.  This particular county  won Best Practice award for Construction on Site Volunteer Management.IMG_0312

IMG_0328From 2012 on, congregation members have helped work on homes for a couple single parents,  a large blended family, as well as for a woman who needed to update her to home to make it more accessible for her needs.  While working with the Itasca Habitat for Humanity the group does a variety of jobs from roofing, painting, insulating, windows, doors, construction, install cabinets, siding, foundation work and landscaping.  More than safely building the houses, we built community.

These Habitat for Humanity building trips occur during August and more information will be available closer to the date.
